Pain of Herpes

I am diagnoised with genital herpes. I take Valtrex everyday. It stops the overt outbreaks (lesions), but after a couple of months I'm having problems with pain and burning in my penis. I don't get lesions, just pain. Anybody experieinced this? Any suggestions?

You really need to consult you doctor immediatly that is not normal I dont think its a side effect you could have something else going on any itching?
