Hi, Absolutely anyone can get STIs regardless of your age or how careful you are practising safe sex. Sometimes, it just happens.
Don't feel ashamed or down on yourself . Do you feel you need to share this with your daughter? If you really want to, I'm sure she will understand. We're all human. It's hard cos if you had the flu or a serious disease you'd get sympathy but with an STD it's like you brought it on yourself - but this is not always the case. Stop feeling bad - we are all in the same position here.

I am in the same boat as you. I have not decided if i am going to tell them. So much pain.

I have a family that don't take this kind of news well. I'm afraid that my daughter will finally judge me. I'm planning to get a second opinion. Medication taking is Valtrex. This medication makes me drowsy. I take it at night.

I take it at night also. I am still in no position to tell anyone. Still on a emotional and spiritual roller coaster. God will get me through this. I cannot do it alone.

I don't know if I had herpes from last encounter or years ago. Every year, I would go to have AIDS testing not STD testing. I'm speechless.
