Sex / Pornography Addiction Support Group

Yes i got the DS message too. We have lost almost all recent posts and discussions from those looking for support and understanding. I have gone back more than 20 pages to try and find stuff, and bumped some helpful ones.
Lets hope the group will be appointed a couple of Community Leaders, so we can keep an eye on trolls and nuisance makers in the future.

I saw earlier today that there was some guy on here who called himself Something Vet. I didn't really pay too much attention. But he was shown as being a Community Leader. Do you know anything about that? Has he just been appointed? Is he a former Community Leader who's temporarily stepping into the gap? Or is he a Community Leader from one of the other sex addiction sites here at DS who's been temporarily imported in for duty? I don't recall ever seeing his name on posts or responses before, but I may have missed something.

Update: The gut who's listed as Community Leader calls himself WanderingVet.

Sorry Charli, you haven't missed anything, yes i know of Wandering Vet.
I am a member in the Dailystrength Members Community, which is a group that talks about things that go on around here, new updates and issues. It is sometimes frequented by the 'higher powers' here at DS, so i posted our problem, so we could get quick action.

W.V is another member who is a Community Leader in his support group, of War Vets i think, and since he had the power to closed posts already, came over to help us until DS could help. Thanks mate!!

This group in particular does not have its own CL. This job is usually not done by one person (to ensure its not a dictatorship) but is usually done by 2 or 3 people, who collaborate. Those CL's oversee that things are running smooth, are the go-to people for other members with problems, and have the power to delete problem posts or close posts.
A call went out in January 09 for CL's and I applied, but no-one else did, so none was appointed. I think a mix of both a SA and a SO would be a good mix for CL's here. I am already the Admin for the Spouses group, so it could just be an extention of that for me? I think the SA would need to have a grip on their recovery, cause it wouldn't be right if just be run by SO's, as even i can see where problems may lie in that situation!! Ha Ha

Thoughts anyone??

And yet a strong benefit of having an SO on here is to remove some of those graphic pictures that don't affect us the same way. For an SA to have to go through and delete every one could be weakening.


I remember when that call went out and I also remember nominating you. I'm not sure I see a clear reason why you weren't appointed. I think the last days problems are evidence that we really need one.

Hi all. Just dropping by to see how things turned out. I am a CL assigned to the Depression Group. In that you do not have a CL, I 'heard' about the problems and dropped in to help.

As for your getting your own CL (good idea in my opinion), the request has been submitted to DS. Whether they will take action or not is unknown.

CL's go 'where they are needed' on occasion and if you have problems, here is a list of all DS CL's. Please know we are not always online. Here it is though, for what it's worth:

Thanks for the information Trina and WanderingVet. I'm sure it will come in handy somewhere down the road. (Hopefully, not in the next few weeks or months, however). Man, these raiders were EVERYWHERE. Sometimes, they were posting messages and/or responses as quickly as they were being deleted today.
