Husband's cybersex compulsion

I just joined this group because I found out that my husband has a cybersex compulsion. He has been writing sexual things to women online for years, along with watching videos and going to chat sites. He said that he did it before we met when his father died and couldn't stop once we met. It isn't done in a high volume (when I found out, he had only talked to one woman through email and only emailed her 2 times per month). He says sexually explicit things to these women that he feels he can't say to me because I am "too sweet". He allowed me to read everything that he wrote in the past and I found no evidence of actual meetings, online activity only. Even though it was hard for me to read these, I got through them because I had to know if he had been unfaithful to me in real life. He said that he has tried to tell me many times and is embarrassed. I found videos and chat sites on our computer last week and that is when I confronted him.
He is now seeking counseling. And he says that he is glad that it is out in the open because he can get help and stop. I am so lost and confused, I can't talk to anyone I know about this because everyone loves him and I don't want to embarrass him further. So I guess that I am just looking for support. Sounds like a step in the right direction. My husband denies, denies, denies except for the ONE TRANSCRIPT I managed to stick under his nose.

I have the same problem as your husband. I've been doing it for years and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one. I am very glad my fiance caught me because now I feel like i can finally fix myself.

Please inform your husband, that who he may be chatting with may not be who they really are. If your husband is sending explicit messages to random people online, it could end terribly.
People online aren't always who they say they are. This "woman" he is chatting with may not be a woman after all, rather a man or even worse, a child. YOU never really know who you are chatting with online, and this can be very dangerous. People do not really think about this, but it is true, and a rather frightening thought.
