I got the book from a friend online in a teen advice site.. It's writing by the group S.A.F.E. it goes deep into self-harm and talks about some people's experacne at S.A.F.E. they have also said that people who go to S.A.F.E leave feeling better about themselve's
Some parts in ti are really hard to read and it may trigger some. but i'm sure a lot of people will find it helpful. About last year, i send the book i got from a friend to another frined of mine thats strugeling with SI |

Ok, I am giving this 3 stars, only because it is EXTREMELY triggering...IF you are in recovery, DO NOT read it because it WILL trigger you to harm again....While in the SAFE hospital I had this book and none of us could read it b/c it just triggered all of us like crazy and of course, being in the hospital we had all signed safety contracts and couldn't harm so it just agitated us to no end...so read it only when you are in a very good place...or better yet, give it to your friends, your family or whatever so that they can understand what you are going through. Thats what I did and I was able to answer their questions without getting too triggered.

I agree with the other two, the book is really triggering. They describe a lot of people who self injure (obviously) and then explain how they injure which made me think about injuring all the frikkin' time.
I didn't agree with a lot of what they said but I would recommend it as reading for family/friends of SI'ers. However, I would advise reading different books about SI too to get the bigger picture and not just the opinions of the founders of SAFE.

I really liked this books. I checked it out from the library about a month ago it had some useful info in it. I even took it with me to my therapy session and talked about some of the things with my therapist. However some parts can be very triggering so I'd be careful!

I give it five stars becauses its much different from every other book out there on SI. It tells us things that we may not want to hear, it makes us face reality all the while helping us and giving many ways to help cope. This was one of the only books on SI i actualy found helpfull... all the other ones were just triggering and unhelpful. although yes this can trigger it is also extremely helpful.
