Is it weird that this pisses me off?

I have scars all over my body but especially on my arms. I've been cutting for over 11 years so there are a lot of them. Some of them are words, most are just lines.
Anyways, I went to the hospital yesterday and needed an IV. Most nurses tell me that there is too much scar tissue in the crooks (underside of my elbow) of my arms to put an IV there and normally use my hand. So I tell the nurse to use my hand and she insists on using the crook of my left arm. I have a scar of the word "insane" there... She couldn't find a vein for a while so she kept poking me and now my scar is all messed up and swollen and bruised and it pisses me off that she ruined it. Even if it is just temporarily.... It's not weird. It's your body, and you did what you wanted with it. It's kind of like an artist with their canvas. While whatever you created may not be appealing to others, it's yours, and when someone comes in and throws blue paint all over it, even if you have your artwork covered in teflon, the fact that someone disregarded your wanting them to leave it alone, hurts. It's understandable to be upset.
Even if it is temporary.
