So, I'm going to see my therapist tomorrow. And I don't really feel like i'm getting any better with my problems that I've been dealing with. I feel the same as when I first started to go and see her. I feel like i'm wasting her time and my own. I do not feel she is giving me any building blocks to help, and I think it might be time to move on. Not sure what to do?!?! Any suggestions would be great

" I'd be a bit wary of saying 'precisely' this to her. Perhaps you could as her if 'she' thinks you've been getting any better or not. Then, depending on her answer, you could somehow each decide on the best way forward. I hope this helps a bit. "

" If it's nothelping, than it's time to move on. But before you do, ask yourself, is it because I'm not putting the effort forth to make it work, or is it because I don't click with my therapist/she's just not doing me any good? "

" I think you might want to try dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). In addition to just talk therapy, DBT involves group sessions where you learn new skills for coping with stress and regulating your emotions. These skills directly address your behavior problems. If it is available and you can afford it, I would recommend it. "

" Because most therapists or just awful greedy money makers.

Why would I say this?

They invite you in to talk about your problems but rarely work with you to change things or make solutions. It's like they get off on hearing sad stories and all your bad news.

Some people like to vent and get things off their chests. I am not one of the ones who gravitates toward this type of non-sense chatter about my problems. I think about them enough on my own, thank you very much.

I don't need to visit a guy who wants me to tell him what's going on so that he can criticize me and tell me I have a problem.

So for the most part, I think most therapists suck, and I don't recommend any of them. If they do help, it takes them Years! Who has time for that???

Find a good Neuro-Linguistic Programmer...these people create changes in people that last...in one session that is about 15 minutes...if they're good. (See: Anthony Robbins) "

" Thank you so much for all your advice.. I will be checking out those things listed below. Went to day and thought I would give it one more shot, but still not sure if I really want to continue seeing her. "
