" i started therapy in 2006 and had been cutting regularly for four years before. She was amazing! We talked for twice a week for a couple of years. I was in and out of the hospital a lot because of the cutting and other things. She left me, said that she was taking a break for the summer and that she would be back in the fall, but she didn't come back, it hurt bad, but I eventually found another therapist after going threw a few. But she left me too after finding anther job and now I'm on my eigth therapist in five years. I know it sounds like a lot, but I'm really picky and they cost a lot so I have to be sure, plus some of them are really crazy so you have to weed those out. I'm a Christian and I've sought chrsitian counselng and non christian counseling and they both have had their good and bad times. But if you are cutting and having suicidal thoughts more than once a month, or more than that then you need to seek professional help. I also use a support group website www.recoveryourlife.com they have a chat room where you can go, 24-7 and talk to anyone who is online. And you can always talk to me, I'm working on my Masters in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Crisis and trauma Counseling. I am now with a therapist who really cares and wants the best for me. The key to therapy is you, even when you get upset at your therapist for making you talk about what you don't want to talk about, they can't help you unless you are willing to help yourself, they can't fix you, but they can help you fix you. Good luck, let me know if you have any other questions. "
