Great Info on Vit D Levels From Sun

Hi Everyone,

It's officially SPRING! (sorry Fighter). I subscribe to a newsletter from Dr. Joseph Mercola. Most of the information he sends out is quite interesting and helpful. Today's info IS MOST informative for us SAD's. Watch the short video to learn how to use the Sun or Moon Altitude Azimuth Table, calculated the the Astronomical Applications Department. It is yet too early in the year where I live in Oregon to get any Vit-D from the sun, no matter if I stayed out all day long and it was brightly shining. Although, in just a few days on April 3rd, the levels will get higher and in a short interval of time (if the sun was shining and not cloudy), I would be able to get V-D from the sun. Another interesting fact, if one washes with soap up to 48 hours after Vit-D sun exposure one washes Vit-D off the skin, as it has not had time to penetrate! WOW!

I hope you all are doing better, I know I am, just the time change and longer days are helping. The days where I live are now light longer than dark.

I so hope you find this info helpful. This is so important for us SAD's we need all the Vit-D exposure we can get. This amazing chart calculates from anywhere in the world. My Best!

" Thanks, thats really interesting. My local university has a weather station that I use for monitering light intensity, but it doesn't correlate them to Vit D.
Thanks "

" I can hardly wait till the sun is actually high enough on the horizon to produce vitamin D on my skin. Getting really tired of cold and snow, and winter like conditions. Give me a break, it is past the middle of April and the snow is still deep.

I need spring or summer, and for it to stay forever! "

" Hi Angela, if you go to this website you will find - depending on where you live... there are short chunks of the days now where if the sun is shining, (not cloudy) you can get the benefit of Vit D while you are outside. I am finding where I live in OR it is around mid day for 1-2 hours. Hope all that snow melts soon! "

" I was in a tank top, sweating yesterday, drove home 8 hours and it is going to snow...I feel like I just re entered winter.

does anyone here try to ski or anything in winter? I certainly do not...but I wondered if that would combine exercise and sunshine...(and sore muscles and potential other injuries....) "
