There is also too many quacks out there who use non medical treatments for scoliosis that often do more harm than good. I worry about people who are vulnerable and scared and might actually believe these suggestions. No one with congenital or ifiopthic scoliosis is going to do well with some of these ideas, most of which have never been studied in any peer reviewed mainstream medical journals.
Some even use the term "structural" scoliosis which is a misnomer. Scoliosis often accompanies other illness like MS or cerebral palsy or Marfan's syndrome. It is a HUGE field and anyone preaching that there are pie in the sky non medical solutions (even with certain chiropractor procedures which can do more harm than good) is doing a disservice. There ARE of course doctors who may not be the best but do your own research and do not allow yourself to be bullied or intimidated by anyone into thinking that you can find an easy way or there is something YOU are not doing! I very much worry about these sites online that have little basis in fact.

Actually, almost every stat and opinion posted on www.fixscoliosis.com is accompanied with a full copy of the research article inwhich it appears.....or at least a copy of the abstract and the reference. That is way more than what can be said for this forum.
What are you afraid of? Why are all post surgical patients completely dismissive of any hope for a better future in scoliosis treatment? This type of responce is what I was refering to in my "Crabs in the box" post. Why don't you want a better way for future scoliosis patients? We are simply presenting an alternative view point that patients would otherwise never be exposed too. Your welcome.
