On wednesday i had a epidural injection in my lumbar area L5/S1, not only did it hurt a heck of alot when he did it but it still hurts today. It is as iff it has increased my pain. And my head oh man feels like it is going to split open. Do these always work? I have alot of anxiety on getting the next one done in a few weeks. I mean it hurt BAD when he did it. His nurse said some feel like a "funny bone" feeling when it is done. Funny bone feeling my rear! it was bad enough it made me pee on myself while it was getting done.
anyone have anything like this happen when they had theirs?

" Hey, Kristi - I think it's important that you tell your dr about the peeing issue since it could represent a loss of control that's related to the nerve issue. You are not alone - I have been suffering with sciatica for a few years and haven't found relief thus far. I'm pursuing non-surgical options like the tens unit and other nerve stimulation devices but haven't made much progress thus far. I pray you get relief soon! "

" Hi Kristi,

I didn't have the peeing problem, but will share my experience....
My surgeon told me that the chances of it working were not very good, but I wanted to try it anyway. It hurt real bad and didn't help me at all. I didn't want to try another one because I had no success with this shot. I eventually had back surgery to help correct the sciatica problem, which is due to stenosis (a pinching of the sciatica nerve). The doctor told me it would take a year to recover from my sciatica since nerves take a long time to heal. I had my surgery in June 09 and am still suffering with sciatica and using a walker, but at least I have the assurance of being without pain and not having to use a walker in the future.
