I fell down porch stairs and had injured my back with terrible bruising on back and butt had very large swelling and bruising. I had to call ambulance to take me to hospital but of course the X rays showed nothing. The pain was terrible and was going down my right leg. The doctor tried to get my insurance to cover MRI but was denied. Finally nurse practitioner called herself and they finally approved. This was after suffering with pain and trying different medications that didn't do a thing but make me unalbe to work my usual job as I should have. I had the MRI in July and of course it showed herniated and buldging discs and sciatica of lowoer back. I have been through 2 months of PT with no results except the spasms are not as frequent. I work as a Supervisor so I am on my feet all day and I work 40 hours a week. The nights I have to work are the worse, I can barely walk out of the place. and when I get in the car I don't know that I can get myself out. The pain is unbareable. I am on pain medicine (darvostat, or however you spell it) which I try not to take except when I am home. Does the pain ever quit or am I going to live with this for the rest of my life? Should I go see a specialist? Should it be a Neurologist or who do you guys reccomend? Sorry I am full of questions but my doctor doesn't seem to care what happens to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
