i never sit with my feet flat on the floor. i always sit with them propped up. i have a little folding/collapsible footstool that goes with me when i am out. i have an ottoman i use at home.

this relieves the pressure on the lower back and helps to stretch out the lumbar vertebra and any disc that are sitting on nerves have a chance to move a little off the nerve.

it doesn't always work but before i started doing this i had sciatica all the time now i only have it rarely

" Hello NeedsafeH

Taking a Footstool with you is a good idea. I know I sometimes need one when I go to restaurants that have deep seats in their booths. I could use one other places too. If you dont mind me asking, Where did you find a folding footstool small enough to take with you when you go out? "

" yay! it worked, it is the last four if you look at the center of the top there are cut out places, when this thing folds up flat those cut out places are the built in handles to carry this footstool. it is very light weight but holds up to 300lbs. not that anyone's legs weigh that much!

i carry a small pillow to put on top to cushion my heels. i take these to doctor's offices because you always have to wait! i take it with me everywhere i go, i leave it in my car so i will always have it. "
