Hey about 2 weeks ago i started getting little twiches on the left left in the calf on the side, then before i went on holiday it got really bad like stabbing pains and then when i went away was walking alot it would get bad and i had to phone home thinking i had a blood clot or something that was the worst thing i was worrying about! then when i got home it got better still tingeling in my ankle and feet though, and then started hurting again today, i had a deep vein thrombosis scan when i got back off holiday the doc said he wanted to send me for a scan as he wanted to rule it out but said it sounded unlikely that i had it. then today i went to the doctors again and he thought i had syatica what he said matched in with what was happening with me sometimes i get twitichin in my thighs and sometimes like now a bad bachache, how long does it take to go? and did anyone else have to go for a blood clot tests? doctor said i had borderline syatica x

In my case it started with hip pain and eventually radiated to the back and then down the leg and became progressively worse. My big mistake was thinking I would just tough it out and ignore the pain. This causes the irritated nerve to become more inflamed and made the condition worse. You might run the symptom checker on WEBMD.com and read the information on sciatica on WEBMD. This episode for me has been going on for six months and was bad enough that I have been on bed rest for the past 2 weeks. Very little sleep, because the slightest move in the wrong way results in harsh shooting pain that will wake you in the worst way. I am not sure sharing my experience helps, but I hope you are better soon.

I am going through exactly what you are. It is so painful. Qas in the ER last week with so much pain. They said it was not phlebitis but something do to my nerves in that are. Go to chiropractor, on neurotin
3 times a day, tried ibeprophen, have worn it out. On anxiety drugs. Recently given Darvocet at ER. Only thing that really helps is the chiropractor. Can't afford to go all the time and can't alwas get an appoint ment. eittod

Sciatica can be caused by a NUMBER of things. what you need is to have some studies done to fine the CAUSE of the sciatica. The best would be an MRI with and without contrast material. Have it done on the lumbar spine. This would probably find the culprit. It's a start anyway.
To go to a chiropractor BEFORE you even know what is wrong is POOR advice. If you have a herniated disc or something even worse, you could end up paralyzed by manipulation by a Chiro. Have your doc order some studies to find out the cause! Best of luck and let us know how you come out. God bless! Hugs, Lee
