My husband is being treated for possible Schizophrenia. He has Bipolar Disorder and left me a little over a month ago while suffering through a manic state. He was admitted into a mental Hospital for a week. I am just at a loss right now....what is Schizophrenia all about? What are the signs? What can he do? He still hasn't come home yet, said he needs to fix himself first. I know he is scared because his Aunt committed suicide and she was suffered from Schizophrenia. Any advice would be appreciated.

" Read all you can and good luck. That's about all I can tell you. It's a lot up to him but he has a good chance I believe with you keeping on loving him. My heart is with both of you. "

" Hi there, I have had schizophrenia all my life. There are many possible reason for the illness and trying to find a single solution is near impossible ( note I said near impossible) Every single sufferer is different and its like a finger print.. In saying that you need to establish a close bond with him and totally support your husband in every respect. Yes! it not going to be a easy ride for you and you will need some sort of support yourself. Take each step slowly and try to understand and comprehend every word he says to you. Be a good listener and try not to put any pressure on him what so ever as he will look at you in a totally different manner. He will be totally paranoid and may think you are out to get him. I dont know the full story or history but i pray you can hold it together for your own sanity. Phillip "
