Here's what you do ...
You ask a reliable witness if he (or she) sees the same appartitions. If the witness says "no" ... then you know it is the disease having its way with you. Problem totally solved. .

Fata is right. I ask my psychologist all the time about things I am seeing even to go so far as to ask him if he was real. He is honest, tells me yes or no. He even let me handle his hand to feel if he was real with a pulse and everything. So knowing he was real was a hurdle jumped. The other things that come up I use him as a sounding board all the time. Keeps my head on straight.

Shadow People do not exist. They are a trick of the light, an illusion, sometimes mental, sometimes optical.
I have studied many "cryptid" entities, including shadow people and I've come to the conclusion that they are nothing but folklore. There is no real evidence to suggest their existence. It's interesting to note that many people have described Shadow People as being tall, gaunt, and appearing to be wearing a long overcoat/robe, and wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Interestingly, many descriptions of the Bogeyman fit that description to a T (of course, like the Bogeyman, Shadow People come in various shapes) Fata, I'm sorry to say, but your solution probably won't work, it's a good idea, but Shadow people are described as being able to fade into walls at will, and are usually only seen out of the corner of your eye to begin with. So a witness "not seeing them" may not help. Although I suppose it could not hurt to try. worldofblah. If you can't accept that they are not real, perhaps this will help instead. One explanation of shadow people is that they are beings from other dimensions, who only briefly cross into ours, and it has been suggested that they themselves do not cross over, but rather an aspect of them. So, because they are not actually present, then that means they can't harm you. And for that matter, they may not even have any desire to harm you, or even know you are there.

Do they do anything? When I saw shadow people a few years ago, they varied. Some of them just glared, they made me uncomfortable. Some genuinely wanted to scare me, approaching and acknowledging me. MOST of the time, they would just stare at me. Which is it for you, or otherwise?

Boo Radley was a shadow person ... some people saw him; others did not.
I think that only special people who shine have the gift of seeing shadow people anyway. .

boo radley was a real person that was a recluse, not a shadow person. The kids were afraid of him and would stare, thus the saying "Are we having a boo radley moment?" when someone is staring at you.

As for special. I don't feel very special. Almost as good as one my therapist saying I'm lucky to have the experience of psychosis, not many have that opportunity. Like WTF!!!!!

I never thinking of these symptoms as being positive...but at least my hallucinations have increased my tolerance for scary things. Compared to my hallucinations not many things scares me as much I think unless I have really bad paranoia with the hallucinations.
