Hi!
I have a general question - did anyone try consuming alcohol after being diagnosed? Malarek Posted on 09/23/11, 03:55 am |

ok... well... that's worse than i experienced then...
my question was more about - did the alcohol kick harder? did the hangovers get insane? cos i have a terrible hangover after having 2 drinks with dinner and then full 8 hours of sleep... and i was wondering if that had anything to do with sarcoidosis... or if i'm just getting old and sickness has nothing to do with it...

it can make you flare up really bad and box your kidneys or liver if you have kidney or liver involement.
if your on methotrexate or other DMARD's you shouldn't drink on it. I think besides those one drink wont hurt ya but ask your doc or pharmacist first

I am not on anything at all... my doctors decided not to give me any medication, and wait to see how it progresses...
therefore my questions...:-)

My sarcoidosis has only been found in my liver so far and the docs told me no more liquor. Basically the sarcoidosis causes hardness in the liver, they likened it to the marbling in a steak. So the less you 'insult' your liver the better. When I do have a drink these days (before being told this) I get flushed after a glass or two, when it used to take more than that.

Hi, Virginialady here,
I'm new here also, and yes I have been consuming red wine. My usual consumption is a 3 oz. only...1-2 times a week, this seems to help relax tense muscles from their trying to protect the areas in pain during the day.

If u R taking medications u should probably abstain from alcohol and talk with your Dr. about this.

It's NOT A GOOD IDEA. I have quit all together. My stories are pretty intense I will elaborate if anyone wants to hear about them.
