I have been using proactive, now generic proactive called acne clear from walmart. I dont really like the acne clear as much, I think the texture of proactive helps exfoliate or something. Anyway, I want to try the Prosacea I saw mentioned, but do I use it as the makeup removing cleanser? Minocycline helps, if I stay on it religiously, but I forget, and loose the bottle, and pay for it days later with OMG acne. I also use Clear Difference under my makeup. Without clear Difference, makeup or sunscreen makes me break out in just hoours. Clear difference allows me to wear makeup, which makes me feel a little better about showing my face. I hate for people to see me without makeup, because my skin is so red, blotchy, scarred. I hate the way acne makes me feel about myself.

" Big hugs, scgramma! I understand! I had to stop using stuff like proactive and glycolic acids because they kept making things worse for me. I am using clinique redness solutions after getting a tip on this site. I bought the cleanser and moisturizer and some green tinted powder, but didn't like the powder so I took it back. I think the moisturizer is the thing my skin really needs, because I just took a trip and ran out of the moisturizer (only had the clinique cleanser) and my skin got just as red as ever. My skin would get dry flakey patches on it with big pimples and I would just look like a big red tomato. I hate acne and rosacea, too! I am still new to this, so I would love any other tips as well. My skin doesn't look as red while I'm using the redness solutions stuff, but it looks very dull. :( "

" I wish I could report an acne cure, but it seems to get worse with age and nothing I've used so far helps. I have however found a solution to help redness and little bumps. It's a solution of Metronidazole & Hydrocortisone from my dermatologist. It's a cream I use 1x or 2x day depending on redness. It does make you sensitive to the sun. What doesn't work for me are the "sulfer-type" topical lotions--really makes things worse. Prosacea (over-the-counter) works somewhat. As far as acne goes, what hasn't worked for me are the antibiotics---Tetracycline, Erythromicin, Doxycycline, or erythromicine topical. Over-the-counter acne lotions seem to work better, but nothing works well. A constant struggle. As far as diet, chocolate and soda (diet or reg) are immediate triggers for me. My two favorites of course. Keep us posted on your successes or no-go's. "
