I am new to rosacea and can definitely say that it has ruined my life. I have ordered product after product with little success and usually worsening of symptoms. I know rosacea is different for everyone and people will react differently to each product. I was so excited about this new product line that I researched. I read all the testimonials and it seemed like it was really going to work. Rosacea care is the product line...I ordered the sample kit. It is all natural and contains willowbark extract; a powerful antiinflammatory and antibacterial. Well, the second application left me with a completely reddened, blotchy face, with swelling around the eyes. I was so disappointed! I'm still searching. Finacea doesn't seem to be helping or hurting...I jsut use it because I'm afraid if I don't, it will get worse.

" I use mertrogel at night, I use clinigue soap for sensitive skin and Roc non greasy 50 spf sunscreen. I avoided and am still all kinds of food but found 2 things that really helped, drinking ALOT of water 3 litters a day and becoming vegetarian, Fish is ok but also no eatting anything fried, no artificial sweetners NO SPLENDA. Finding what triggers an attack is not a nice experience but eventually you put two and two together. I find it hard to be happy with Rosacea but I keep trying, good luck "

" How dare you sir! Who are you to minimize anybody's feelings about anything they are going through. Many people are ashamed and isolated about the way they feel. I have third stage lyme's disease and the rosacea is just another aspect of it...I am in debilitating pain every day...I have an aneurysm is my heart that is about to explode, my hair is falling out in clumps, I was born blind and had many surgeries to get it....now they are retinal wrinkles in the back of my eye dangering permanent blindness, and the rosacea is causing corneal edema which is also threatening my weak eyes. So please, before you post such crass remarks...take it somewhere else...this is a support group, not a bashing group. I'm sure your life is not a bed of roses either and I would certainly post words of encouragement to you no matter what you were going through. By the way, I am being tested for carcinoid..a rare stomach cancer with a poor prognosis....I was the head of the neuro icu in a very prominent cancer hospital in NYC, and I am a cancer nurse who dedicates my life to helping people with terminal illnesses. You should be ashamed of yourself. "

" There is often a difference in approach between men and women. Men (and I guess I'm an example) often take the stiff-upper-lip approach: Okay, you've got it, and it's tough, but keep it in perspective and develop a strong attitude. Some women think that hand-holding is the only solution, which it might be at times, but it can also enable feelings of self-pity. We should recognize that there are varied approaches that reflect different people's orientation and experiences, and not simply condemning someone for offering advice that differs from your own. That is intolerance. And remember, some people benefit from being reminded that, in the big picture, our burdens are manageable. "

" Male or female, sir. You have a right to your opinion and its nice to have all sorts of "advice" (as you put it), but you could have used a little more tact to your approach. "

" Hi, I've had rosecea for 6 years and I use Apo-erythro 250 mg. Erthromycin Base, twice a day. I take one in the morning and one at dinner (evening) along with 1000 mg. of Evening Primrose Oil. (They are capsules). It helps so pimples don't break out which is the worse part. I notice if my under stress, then a few days later I break out a little, or in the sun too much, so you have to watch that. You have to get a doctor's prescription for the erythromycin but I would give it a try. You can't expect results for a while as it take a while to get into your system. I've tried creams for the face, but they don't help and I don't wear liquid makeup. Send a message if you want to talk more. "

" Hiya mfraq.

I appreciate the feeling of helpnessness you develop when this condition takes hold. I was frantic, I had no idea what the problem was and tried everything.

I was in a similar situation to you, and EVERYTHING I tried just seemed to make it worse. Try and hang in there, you probably need to find what works for you.

I tried for months cutting out stuff, adding stuff, changing lifestyles etc.

Anyway here are things that work for me:

- Oxytetracycline (antibiotic which is prescribed)
- blended tea tree oil as required
- vitamin E oil as required
- if you're feeling rich - Chanels SOLUTION DÉSTRESSANTE (calming emulsion) is just fantastic, it's really light, doesn't sting, and leaves your face feeling cool and, yes, calm.
- a very early night once in a while :) "

" Laser, laser, laser. Seriously, if you have not tried laser treatments you are truly missing out. I've taken clients from looking as red as a tomato to a peaches and cream comlextion. Please look into laser treatments. Not Foto factials. Look for lasers that treat vascular lesions. "

" I have been told laser is the best thing for rosacea however there is seabuckthorn oil also as a topical solution that is supposed to kill the mites under our skin. I may look into this oil and see how it all turns out. As for laser I am not sure. We'll see. "
