Hi Scarlet I can understand a little what you are going through. I too have the same issues as you. I do not think anyone really knows what causes this nasty skin disease. You may have some yeast issues going on in your belly and yeast i have been told is linked to rosacea in some cases (mine)
Try eating plenty of yogurt for the tummy problems and like most everyone here on this forum will tell you, cutting out triggers...spicy food, extreme temperatures, stress(good luck with that one) keep your eyes moist (ask your doctor about Restasis, Pataday or Patanol), keep your allergies under control, cut out caffeine....most likely you will need to go through a major lifestyle change, but doing some of those things are good for you anyway. Laundry detergents are a killer too, be sure you are using fragrance free detergent. Cetaphil wash is good, I am sure many people will tell you that. Calm, Cool and Corrected cream has been a life saver for me (far better than Cetaphil for me, maybe not everyone) if you have not tried Calm Cool and Corrected by Dermadoctor I recommend it. It is $85 but the jar lasts forever. Clinique products are the best that I have found, if you have to use make-up. Oh and Dermacia foundation is the best foundation if you have to use that as well. It lets your skin breathe. It really works! There is a prescription wash I just heard about.."Rosanil" have not tried it but am gonna ask the cosmetic surgeon guy..(my derm is worthless I go to a cosmetic surgeon) I use Advil for inflammation. Benzoyl peroxide really makes me flare-up, i try to not use it. Look around the forum, you will get plenty of ideas and advice. I feel very bad for you. I am having a bad flare-up right now and am miserable. So much pain. You may run into people who think it is just a case of acne or red face but it is so much more. Inflammed capillaries, pustules...these can get very painful, so just ignore the yo-yos'. Good luck!
