MTX stomach issues ??

If you have used MTX have you had any stomach problems, and what kind? Nausea, stomach pains??

I'm having dull empty pain in my stomach that reminds me of the times that I've taken so much aspirin that my stomach starts hurting.

Just saw the doc two weeks ago, but I don't know if it's related to the MTX
.

Thanks!

" Sorry everyone is having similiar symptoms, but glad to see what I am feeling is a somewhat normal response. I call my Wednesday's "Methotrexate Wednesday's" I take the MTX in the morning and by late afternoon I usally have the stomach ache and nausea feeling. I have learned to try not to schedule things for Wed. nights and have found it best to just lay still and hope it passes. That does not work however on the evenings that my wife works and I have the three kids. The nauseated ill feeling will sometimes last into the next day on Thursday. Wed. day at work is rough with the nausea hitting and just trying to make it through the day. Some weeks do not seem as bad as others. I may try increasing my food and water intake on Wed. and see if that makes a difference. The last couple of weeks I have been getting sores in my mouth after taking the MTX. I hate how it makes me feel, but after trying to go off of the MTX a few months back, I don't think I could make it without it. "

" hey panhandle, I think that we need to try bistro's advice and take it on a full stomach...plus lots of water. Are you taking the folic acid? My doc increased my dose after I started to complain about a small sore in my mouth.

Thanks everyone....it's a relief to know that others experience similar symptoms.
