Although the FDA has not formally approved celebrex as a a treatment for juvenile rhematoid arthritis just yet, recently the FDA's Arthritis Advisory Committee voted to support its approval for treating JRA.

Would like to hear from others about their experience with this medication.

Thanks,

Dr. J

" Well I'm not sure how this worked, but I was put on Celebrex when I was 13. I have JRA...someone did a loop hole I think!! I was on it for about 6 months, and for the first month or so, I noticed an improvement. After that it was like I wasn't taking anything. So we stopped...for whatever reason my symptoms calmed down, and so I went back to being on naproxyn, which worked fine. Shortly there after (not sure exactly how long...you'll get the idea) when Vioxx came out, they threw me on that, as I was complaining of knee swelling. After a month I didn't notice any change, and so we stopped that as well, and went back to the naproxyn. Perhaps it was just me....But that's my story!! "
