Leflunomide?

My Rheumy just started me on Leflunomide. Has anyone taken this medicine for their RA? I was on MTX for about 3 months, and it seemed to do nothing. The info that I have found on Leflunomide is so generic. I would appreciate any comments from anyone who knows anything about this drug.

Thanks,
Chris

" I've been taking it for about 3 months. It seemd to help. I also take mtx. The biologics seem to help the best. I was on Enbrel until we switched health insurance. Now I can't afford it because we pay a percentage instead of a set copay. "

" For me the combination of Leflunmide and Remicade has changed my condition greatly. i have had RA for over 20 yrs. i went on disability about 8yrs ago after working full time as a nurse. i have had just about everything that is available for this illiness. i have had multible joint replacements. This time last year i was in a wheelchair, and for the most part homebound, i had been on Remicade and metho. for about 1 yr, but the metho made me very ill. Also at this time i was on prednisone. (for 18yrs) When my Dr. saw that i was not able to tolerate the metho. He switched my metho to Leflunmide. The result as been almost a miracle for me. i was able to wean myself of a 18 yr course of pred. and i am almost symptom free. i no longer have that dreaded fatigue, and i am able to remain independent in my daily routine. i am very aware of the fact of what works for one doesn't mean it will work for another. i really hope that Arava will work for you the way it has for me....t "
