I get really moody, mostly angry, when my pain increases. I have never taken pred but I do know it can effect behavior in some people. Lack of sleep will put anyone in a bad mood!

i know i get moody, and emotional when i am on higher doses of prednisone. i am ok on my lower doses. lack of sleep and emotional rollercoaster makes for a very cranky me. i too am on plaquenil, but am on methotrexate, naproxon, elavil and cymbalta.it took a while, but i did adjust to my regular dose 7.5 mg.

I'm an absolute beotch when I take Prednisone ... even at low doses. Oh and forget about sleeping.

My husband says I am "combative" when on prednisone. (He likes to blame the fact that he is being unreasonable & I therefore say so on whatever he can think of. Time of the month, prednisone...)

Well I take 5mg of prednsione and yes there are times when I am a mad woman and my poor husband is the one that I usually take it out on.. but he;s a sweethert because he understands the pain I am going through.. he knows its the meds talking.. or should i say SCREAMING! LOL

I tapered off of prednisone. It didn't do anything for the pain and made me feel 'unreal' [not that that takes much], kind of zoned out and very hyper in the beginning. Also very edgy. I need my brain to work properly since nothing else does.
Now my rhumitologist says it might be a pintched nerve? On to yet another MRI when one becomes available. At least I can walk about 20 steps without caving. This is scarey stuff.

I have been on 10 mg of pred. for the last 6 months. Every day. I have a hard time sleeping and Iam very hyper all the time.I live by myself except for the 4 legged kids and they havent complained about me being moody but I guess I am at times. But I do lay in bed a stare at that darn ceiling a lot.

Predinsone makes me really moody. In fact my daughters calls it the nasty pill. I just started with Enbrel, also on Sulfasalazine, Sulindac, Tramadol. Can't wait till I feel better. I also take Ambien CR to help me sleep.

I can not take the dose packs of prednisone any longer due to having MRSA in a failed knee replacement. However, I allow my physician to give me 10mg decadron injections approx every 6-8 weeks. prednisone was always my miracle drug, now it is the injections of decadron...that help for about 3 days. BUT... YES! I was very moody on the prednisone and also after the decadron injections i am very irritable for several days. So, I understand. I have so much trouble with sleeping, even taking a sleep aid, i awaken every night around 6 times due to pain and being un-comfortable. sometimes it just helps to know ur not the only one going through things. Hang in there! My prayers are with you...

Prednisone makes me really sketchy feeling, I am on 5-10 mg daily and it makes me feel edgy, like I drank 10 cups of coffee. I have been tapering it down despite recommendations by my doctor b/c the side effects. Sometimes I think I would rather feel the joint pain than the moodiness and edginess.
