" Amy, I took ore3ncia foir a little over a year.It was combined with a weekly shot of MTX , folic acid and low dose minocycline. It worked really well for me on my upper body and hands. It also gave me back the energy that RA zapped and took away. Unfortunately, my ankles and feet were not only not improving but getting worse so my RD talked about changing meds. I have just started rituxan and don't yet know if it will be beneficial.

I can you that the orencia experience was not a bad one. The changes were subtle though. Good luck and hope my response helps. "

" I have been on Orencia since February. Also take Arava daily. I noted some improvement over Enbrel, but in other ways different joints have begun hurting. So I have to say overall it has been better for me that Enbrel. I don't notice any side effects. My labs have always been good. I'm going to give it some more time. I asked my Dr. what would she recommend next and she said Actemra, which just came out on the market this year. I want to see what others think about it or have my Doc have more experience with it before I decide to switch. All of these meds do take time to work, its one of the things you have to deal with. "

" I have experienced skin sensitivity with the Orencia. I had a rash on my neck after the second infusion but went away after a couple of days and my skin feels like it has a severe sunburn several days after the infusions. I'm going to to take a couple more infusions of the Orencia and decide if I want to keep using it. I take it with Methotrexate and Prednisone. It has helped my RA a great deal so that is why I'm putting up with the skin sensitivity in hopes that it will lessen in time. "

" I'm on it for 1-1/2 years. In remission without MTX as a result. "

" On Orencia for 2 years next month with MTX added. I'm not sure if I'm having a problem or not but I have.had some strange things happen while on it.

But it stopped the deterioration of my eyesight and I can actually see where my knuckles are so I'm on it until I have to get off.
