RA Pain & "Flares"

I have had RA for about 5 years now. I have been on Enbrel for that long. I have done great until now. For the last two weeks I have had major pain and swelling in my hands, my back hurts all the time, my knees hurt and even my ankles. I figured all this was due to flaring. But it is lasting too long. I did go see my RA doc. She did an exam and said she didn't see any inflamation but she saw that my knuckles were swollen. She gave me Lyrica. I am thinking, what the heck? I know Lyrica if mostly for Fibro and I also know that RA and Fibro go together most of the time. But this Lyrica is not helping. I need something for the swelling and pain. Does anyone else have or ever had these symptoms? If so, what did you take that finally helped? Thanks.

When I flare everything hurts. Are you taking any anti inflammatory drugs daily (NSAIDS)? I take the even when I feel good. I have been in remission a year but when the cold weather hit I had pain all over too. It's just about gone now. Only pain I have is in my feet on and off.

prednisone helps a lot. I also have to take a vicodin about every other day. I think you need prednisone. A wonder drug. Hope you feel better. erica
