My field of view is 25 deg. in the left eye and 23 in the right.

I've been looking for a way to augment my field of view in some situations (and maybe also my night vision.)

Since I'm a bit of a tinkerer (and I have no compunction about wearing bizarre contraptions), I have been thinking about hacking together something like a combination of these video glasses:

fed by this camera:

The camera has a theoretical 170 deg FOV, which is roughly a normal field of view. (probably won't get all of that, but it's still gotta be better than the 23 deg I have.

Has anybody seen or tried a device like that? Was it helpful?

Thanks,
-- Mitch
