Does anyone know if pregnancy affects RP?I have read in a couple different places that it can aggravate the situation but then again there is no concrete evidence. I have a 16 month old and we are considering having another child.. But, I don't want to make the condition worse.

My recommendation would be to ask the question on the fighting for blindness sight as they have an area there for posting questions or thoughts and someone might be able to help you there. The only other suggestions would be to ask your RP doctor or go out on the web and try to find reputable sites that might have some answers for you... I've had signs of RP for about 5 years now and could have had sooner then that I don't know but I have had two children, one 26 and the other 19 and never noticed any changes when I had them. Only in the last 5 years so from my perspective no change but I did not know I had it then. Wish I could help you more on this.. hope you can have more because they are such a joy... well most of the time...:)

I have sector RP and only noticed symptoms about two years ago. My son is 21. I did not have any problems with my eyesight when I was pregant.

well my mom told me when she had me in 1986 her condition got worse ...but the doctors told her about that!!
she was diagnosed in childhood and i dont have the condition but my kids could have :S
