I can remember all the way to age 5, this unconscious leg movement. I was told by my caretaker to stay still constantly.

I also get compliments on my legs and instead of its because I can't stop doing this, I just tell them I swim a lot.

I am barely addressing it because I have had other things that I had to know before I went there. So there it is. I hope to find ways to help this help me sleep.

Sleep apnea is enough but I am starting to really fell numbness so the Dr said check it out with other Dr to see if meds can work together.
Thanks for any info and start ages, I am curious if anyone else remembers similiar situations.

" Thanks. I just was curious if anyone started when they were in elemetary years and if they remember crying in the night with painful cramps?

Also being told they were growing pains and then they didn't know what to say when I was growing.

That was like 20 years ago. Now I have a diagnosis and was trying to see if I was alone. "

" I had pain behind my knees as a child at bedtime, and my mother always said it was growing pains. I have only recently put the two together as being RLS. My daughter had the same thing, starting around age 6, just like me. "

" Um..........I'd have to say I can remember it going way back to when I was 6. It hasn't stopped since. It keeps me up at night and I cannot sit still. And it does't help that I already have Insomnia.......... "

" I feel for all of you and your child, I don't know if my adult sons suffer this. I have very limited relationship since I have been so ill and have moved 2 counties away for my sanity. Anyway, that's another story.

And Myangle123, I have sleep apnea and am resistent to the cpap machines. I tear them off in the middle of the night or some weird thing so I can understand sleep deprivation very well. One less thing with this new med to calm the wild beast.

I hope things get better. have you tried sleep aides from Doc? I have something that helps its called Seroquel. Like I said it doesn't keep me asleep because I can't breathe but it gewts me to sleep and allows me to get back to sleep after a non breathing episode. Take Care. "

" Pretty early in life. Im 30 now and I remember being 6 or 7 and having terrible pains. When I was 12 I had terrible veiny legs.I cant sleep and the only thing that helped is stretching late at night. It sucks so bad. I watch commercials and when the say have mild or moderate RLS its only a few times a week.UGH I wish I didnt have constant and unbearable pain. Now Im pregnant and soon its going to be harder to stretch at night. I truly feel bad for all the cronic pain sufferers. Bless your hearts. "

" I remember being about 5 years old...I think that's why I assumed for such a long time that everyone else felt the same things! "

" I don't know if everyone does this more when they are waiting for something and they get an unconscious urge to go faster? "
