I posted the following in "advice" & didnt get any replies so will change and add to it here and hope somebody else out there has some info about it.

"I have been fired by my physicians clinic and cannot get another (due to a very serios phobic reaction I have to blood tests) so I will have to stop taking prescriptions when the current ones run out (about Jan 2010). Some I can cold turkey but Mirapex warns not to. I need to know how long to go on reduced doses to avoid withrawal symptoms.
I am now on .25mg once a day.

That nite I cut the pill in half and got bad leg cramps in the middle of the night.
Last night again 1/2 a dose, but I took it at 6pm (early for me) and by midnite I was getting some RLS "walking" but no cramps (I had discovered that some antihistamines can aggravate and had stopped taking loratidine that day).
I finally got up and made some cocoa and slept like a baby till 7am.
Does anybody know how long to and how much to reduce dosage when trying to withdraw from Mirapex? Would it be better to take a whole pill every other day and 1/2 every other day for a while?

" No. The irony is I have 100% covereage for most meds. But I cant get a physician to prescribe them after the current prescriptions run out. (I have a phobia that has gotten from manageable to unbearable about needles so now that my clinic has fired me because I wouldnt have a blood test, I cant get another one because no good dr will take on a new patient and prescribe meds without full exam including blood test.
(Especially with my history of problems). Listen to the talk about Michael Jackson's physicians as example.
I will ask the pharmacy. All the insert instructions and mfg websites say talk to your doctor.
thanks "
