How much is your dose? I was told this is not a good idea. Have you asked your doctor or pharmacist? there is a generic called ropinirole that is MUCH cheaper. Those I know who have tried to do this voluntarily have found it quite miserable.
A generic medication that I was given after requip stopped working for me is Gabapentin. It works pretty well though not as well as requip did when it worked for me.
I would ask your doc/pharm about this.

The generic ropinirole is very expensive also. I went to see my doctor and he had no samples to give me until I can get this mess straightened out. I have no choice, but to quit cold turkey. This doctor I saw could have cared less.

I would talk with your dr. I went off requip and tramadol at the same time plus lipitor and previcid. I just cut down when I took them gradually. If you take it every night take it everyother night and so on. It took about me a couple of weeks but I got through it. I had the augmentation which didn't help.

Becky, I am so sorry that you lost your insurance. It is not good to go cold turkey. Do you have any left at all? Like Iamcontent said if you can try every other night and see how that works. Also if you have a dr that could care less, please find one that has knowledge of rls. That is so important. Your new dr may have some samples that will get you through this rough period?

Are you still working, and if so at the same place? If not and you are at a new job will you be getting insurance? I hope that you do not think that I am being too personal, but just concerned.

Well, I did quit cold turkey, and I was very miserable for about a week. I didn't sleep much. I was prescribed hydracodone to help me sleep. It did help, I am sleeping better,but I'm unable to sit and enjoy Television with my family or sit through church. I do have insurance now, but it will not cover mirapex or requip. I just need to find a better doctor who is more understanding about RLS. Thanks for your concern and comments!

Requip generic is available at WalMart for $5 for 30 tablets

At my Walmart pharmacy they were going to charge me 80.00 for 30 generic pills. I've never seen them for $5. Where do you live CSD? Can the cost vary that much??

www.rls.org and www.wemove.org They have some very good info on rls and they do have a place there that you can find out if there is a dr in area that has knowledge of rls. I cannot guarantee what kind of dr he is but it is at least a start. I you cannot find this info and do mint telling me what city and State you live in I can look it up for you.
