I had a sleep study a few weeks ago to determine why I can't sleep. The results came back that I have RLS. The doctor wants to put me on Requip for RLS and he thinks it will help with my sleep. Has anyone had a problem sleeping with RLS and did the Requip help? Do you feel groggy (out of it) in the morning?

I tried em all and none helped me, but forcing myself to walk more now has.....not only is it better for my circulation, it tires me out so I sleep better(I'm a terrible insomniac because of Lyme), but dont overdo it, take it easy at first start out slowly then build up as you go along, cause your calves will feel really sore if you take on too much too fast....

P.S. If you have a partner, ask for massage! It not only relaxes you, its also good for the circulation.....

Requip is not something that you take like a sleeping pill. Also, RLS is experienced when awake, and PLMD is experienced when asleep. Your sleep doc is lumping both into the sme condition, and it is not so.So, they cannot diagnose RLS during a sleep study, only PLMD. RLS is when you are awake and you have to move to keep from going nuts. PLMD's are periodic leg movements while sleeping. so, that is what they saw on the
sleep study, not RLS. :o) whether that is what they are saying or not, I promise that it is true. www.rls.org www.rlshelp.org
