Hey, all --
I've been asked to do an interview as a person with RLS tomorrow for a national magazine. Not a big one, I don't think. But the journalist knows an ex of mine, who hooked him up with me, which is how I'm talking to him. He's asking about natural remedies, lifestyle changes and self-help steps to cope. I'm thinking of mentioning: Iron pills Exercise Hot baths Low-carb diet Stretching Does anybody else have anything they think I should mention? Anybody else want to talk to this reporter? I actually ended up knowing him, went to college with him back in 88-92, and I think I can vouch for him. Thanks! Posted on 07/04/09, 01:07 am |

My experience if you have it bad enough there is nothing that helps no activities no diet no exercise no pill. When it gest bad enough it will drive you to the point of complete and total exhaustion after days weeks months of no sleep at which time you will start to go crazy walking around your house in circles in the middle of the night or leaning against the wall trying to sleep standing up without falling over begging praying pleading for any kind of relief and the thought of suicide starts to sound good.

Thanks for your help, Reed!
The interview went well. And I totally agree with you -- and I emphasized that point with the writer, that lifestyle only gets you so far with treating RLS, that medication is critical for many of us. I emphasized that seeking both medical attention and support from RLS.org and sites like this one is important to get ideas on how to deal with RLS. I said that unlike 10 years ago, most doctors now seem to be familiar with RLS and will listen to you and help you.

Hi
All I know is that the two pills they tried on me made my head fizzle? if thats the right word for it. Felt like eggs on a frying pan without the heat. I know that there's more to the story, yet with Lyme disease and a pinched nerve, no one doc has givin me any answers yet.....although it comes and goes, I deal with it as best I can, because I've just had too much else on my mind with this Lyme mimicking everything else on top of it!
