Ok.. a new doc took over for my retired doc and he has now discharged me due to too many patients. Will not prescribe me my much needed mirapex.i have no insurance and cannot just go see a new doc cause its gonna cost me a minimum of $80 which is impossible for me at this time since I just started a new job.So i need some more ideas or advice on any natural ways to deal with Rls. I am averaging about 3 hours a nite and crawling out of bed in pain and barely walking.HELP!!!

" i am so sorry about your situation. i know i would have the same problem if i suddenly didn't have the mirapex.
i don't know if this will help, but you could try using melatonin (a natural sleep aid, over the counter). it's really the only thing that i can think of that might help you get to sleep. what you are going through can be tortuous, i know..i hope this will help some...thinking of you...Salle "

" Call up that association of pharmacutical companies that help with drugs. Montel Williams advertises for them. "

" That is so sad on what your new dr is doing. You would think he would keep you on being a long time patient.

If I am reading this right, you have the painful rls, which I do too. However I am on meds. Have you tried walking on tile as it cool or taking a hot bath just before going to bed.

Sleep deprivation is miserable as I have been down that road too and especially with you still working. Can you possibly ask the new dr if he can give you some samples, if they have them, until you are able to get insurance.

I do not know if this is of any help, but I know anything is worth a try. What ReedM said is something to check into.

Please keep us posted.

" thanks all for trying to help..I have been able to get a little sleep lately.I am trying one of those home remedies and it eases the urge to move as much..It's tonic water.I don't like the after taste but i mix it with sprite(no..not vodka! lol) and its drinkable. The quinine in it supposedly helps. I still have some nights where i don't get to sleep til 2 but it's better than nothing "
