I have been having problems with symptoms in my legs. I am on an antidepressant and antipsychotic medication for my depression and noticed that it does reduce these leg symptoms. However I was reading information about restless leg and they say you can get other symptoms in your body. What kind of other symptoms?

I am trying to get someone to treat my symptoms. When I was on a higher dose of mind medication, these symptoms went away completely. Now that the dosage is lowered it is back. I am worried because I get an awful feeling in my lower back that moves to my legs. Do you all get tingling that moves?

I also get burning in one place of my body and then some other place. I do have IBS but no doctor has figured what these problems are from. Do you suppose it is related to the start of restless leg?

My family doctor doesn't know what this all is, except he says it could be I am developing MS. So I might have to hit that group and ask questions also. Does restless leg symptoms ever interefere with gut activity? Like cramping?

" I personally have not experienced RLS symptoms to be as you have described. But I am no doctor, so I really couldn't tell you if those things could be due to RLS. I mostly have symptoms in my leggs only. Sorry to not be more help. JoAnn "

" Hi lizgirl the symptoms that you are describing with the tingling feeling does not sound like rls. I am not a dr but what you have said may be neuropathy which is also a brain disorder function the same as rls.

Cramping is not rls. Some people have the creepy crawly feelings and pain (mine is the pain) Once you are at rest is when rls starts up but when you get up and walk it usually goes away. Is that how yours feel?

Also some antidepressants can trigger rls. I would talk to your dr and see what he/she says.

I am going to give you a couple of sites to read as it goes into further on rls. Here they are www.rlshelp.org and www.wemove.org I hope that this is some help for you.

Take care and hope that you are feeling much better. "

" Thank you for those links! I get a tingling in my legs and it shows up when I sit down. But my sleep isn't disturbed from it and when I wake up I feel well. I have an appointment this coming week to check on this problem again. Really weird. I suspect it is a neurologic disorder but haven't found any discription like mine yet. I get jerks in my torso, not in my legs and when all the symtpoms get strong I get anxiety with it as well. I tried to talke to my psychiatrist about it, thinking it was anxiety but he blew me off and said it wasn't depression and he doesn't know what it is. This has me puzzeled. "

" Hi Liz I am so sorry that your psychiatric does not listen to you. You may need this dr for your anxiety, but please see a dr that is willing to work with you and above all listen to you. I know that it is not in all in your head. It is a neurological problem. I am not a dr but I have had rls for over 20 yrs and some of the symptoms may be rls.

You can also have rls in other parts of your body too. Do you have a good neurologist that is good and can help you. Please do find one as you need to find out what is wrong.

You are welcome for those links and please read them as there may be something there that will help you.

Have a good weekend.

Charlene "

" Hi Liz I have an e-mail address for a dr that is with the rls foundation and he is very good in answering back e-mails. Tell him all of your symptoms and he will give you good advise. His name is Dr Mark Buchfuhrer MD e-mail address is somno@verizon.net

We usually just call him Dr. B. Let me know what he tells you.

" I had a friend who was a mentsal health nurse, and she always said my restless legs looked like the side effect of an antipsychotic she knew of. "
