" Hi Alyms79 I have had rls now for over 20 yrs and did not know what it was until about 6 yrs ago. I was on requip in 2006 and my previous dr started me on the starter pack and then when she gave me a prescription it was for 2mg of requip. Within a week I had rls 24/7 and have the painful kind and was nausea all of the time. I had it for 10 months and could not even lay down for a nap. Sleep was out of the question.

I am on mirapex and clonazapem and it does work; however I still have the symptom from time to time but not like I had two (2) yrs ago.

From what I see from your post is that you may be augmenting (having rls anytime of the day or night) Have you had your ferritin level check (iron deficiency) if not, you have to request that b/w as it is not included in the normal b/w.

If this dr is not helping, I would definitely look for a new neurologist and please make sure that he has knowledge about rls and is willing to work with you and above all listen to you. That is so important. You need your quality of life back. Remember one thing is that you are paying his wages and he is in reality working for you.

Please keep me posted on you are doing I really hope that you do find a dr that can give you the relief that you so much deserve

" I slowly stretch my body before and when I wake up from sleeping. It keeps it under control enough so that I can handle it. Also keeping up with the right kind of foods always seems to help a little. And when I go to bed and I'm laying down I move my feet up and down. It puts me to sleep faster and I think it helps me to relax. "
