Hi Everyone! We FINALLY rec'd. the Sutent. Ray will take his first dose about 7 pm, unless anyone recommends differently. We're both scared to death...but most anxious to get this treatment started! Thanks for all your support.

all- my dad will be on his 19th infusion of Torisel. He experienced fatigue, anemia, some discoloration on the face and mouth sores.
Here's what we did to mitigate those side effects: -eat a balanced diet. nothing too fatty, nothing too sweet, nothing too spicy and definitely nothing too salty. Even if your loved one does not want to eat, HE/SHE needs to eat. Every morning, he has fruit smoothies (strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, papaya etc and a bit of yogurt). Also grains, grains and more grains (note avoid white rice) -To mitigate fatigue, beet juice is great. Also for vegetables (spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, watercress) and meat (pork is good)- make sure you chop it up into morsels so it is easier to eat -DRINK ALOE JUICE. you can get those bottles of aloe vera juice to soothe the mouth sore. It has a "cooling" effect. -For some minor discoloration, we ordered this: Brown Spot Facial Discoloration Cream (http://www.localharvest.org/brown-spot-facial-discoloration-cream-C9531) -Most importantly, a positive attitude. We all can get through this. Best wishes and my prayers go out to all of you in this great online community I hope this helps.

Hello Kanoshiro,
Thanks for sending all the information concerning remedies. We're always open to suggestions. Did you Dad try any other treatment before Torisel? How long has he had RCC? Have a good day. MsGrace

Nope- my dad went straight to Torisel. Nothing with Nex or Sutent. He was on stage IV. He had a left Nephrectomy in late 2007 and a lobectomy (upper right lobe) this year.
