My husband is due to start taking Sutent. We were wondering if there is a best time to take it, morning or evening, or does it matter. Was just wondering what experiences others may have had. Thanks!

" I really don't know that it matters. You might ask the oncologist, but I expect if it did matter that he/she would have mentioned it.

I have always taken it just before bedtime, but that was just a personal choice. I've never noticed any immediate reaction to it. Generally any side effect comes along slowly, over a period of several days or a week.

Best of luck to you and to your husband.

If I can help you in any other way please let me know.

Dave "

" Hi! My husband would take Sutent at about 1 pm. That way, if the fatigue hit, it would be closer to bedtime anyway and easier on him. He also took an Imodium at the same time, to hopefully ease any stomach issues. Sometimes it seemed to help, other times it didn't. I hope that helped a little!

Good luck to the both of you! "

" For me, I tried early and late evening. I found around 4:30pm to be the best time with just something simple to eat. Of course I take other pills as well at the same time and have to make sure to keep as many hours between my Sutent and Nexium which are counter indicated. Just try and see what is best. If I did it too close to dinner it affected my appetite. "
