Has anyone else had swelling in their thighs and ankles? My uncle has this now and my aunt does not know how to help him. He is in stage four of renal cancer and has had chemo and radiation. They are in Louisiana. His legs are VERY swollen-if this has been your experience could you give me advice.

I think your uncle should see his urologist as soon as he can (but not an emergency).
Following the removal of my right kidney, my urologist made a big deal about looking for swelling of my ankles. He said swelling means fluid retention, and that could be caused by the remaining kidney not working properly. I am sure there could be a lot of reasons for your uncle's swelling, but just to rule out this one potentially dangerous one, he should be talking to his urologist. My best wishes to him and to you. Dave

Hi,
I'm very new to this world, so I don't know much, but just to throw out another idea. My grandmother (also stage 4) has swelling in both legs due to blood clotting. Hope they figure it out soon and best wishes to you all. Sarah
