As I watch our stock market tumbling I find myself feeling cynical, how did these folks get us IN to this mess! I then remember one of the the coolest coolest things about my job....THE PEOPLE...I get inspired all over again and I have to think we will all be ok. When I do talks in schools or community groups I tell kids about the long haul medicine entails&nb...

11/24/09 We saw the oncologist today, and Ray had a CTscan and bloodwork. The bloodwork all looked good. The CTscan showed maybe one milimeter growth in lung nodules, but the doctor wasn't too concerned and considered it a "nonsignificant change". He doesn't have to return until January 19th. Can't begin to say how grateful we are to God...
I think we can all agree tonight is a historic night. Regardless of how you feel about Obama I hope we are all inspired by the amazing turnout and the emotional investment in this election we have never seen before. Today I was doing rounds at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. It is common to have many folks hanging out in the waiting rooms outside of the surgical ICU waiting for the "5 ...

Unfortunately, Oz started out a group of strong people, Michael, Sarah, Lynda and myself and then we expanded. Well we did not know what we were in for. I met a woman through Lynda who I...

I'm watching the sunset, as I write this. Life doesn't get much better than this. Thank you, God, for giving us this special time together in this special place.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. - Joshua 1:9 Nothing more need be said.
Well a weekend is on the horizion and I have no particular place to go and all weekend to get there..... Dylan has a ball game Saturday morning and after that depending on the weather I may just go for a short cruise on the boat by myself - I have yet to take it out by myself and hell its my boat - so why the heck not? 10/14/09 Ray had bloodwork, chest x-ray, and exam with oncologist today. All looked great and mets in lungs had not changed. Dr. Babcock was astounded that Ray looks so good and all the bloodwork and x-ray look great. God is AWESOME! We are feeling so very grateful! Next CTscan will be 11/23/09.
9/7/09 Today is another new day to be grateful for, with Tim having his scans 3 weeks ago and his lungs being stable for the last 6 months, that our gratitude for this news is the best than it can get and it only can get better...I didn't have a chance to share this with all of you, with a new journal entry, i have been so busy and life has been so hectic, which is no excuse, Tim's w...
