  • You...You Broke My Dipstick

    Monday, April 21, 2008 | A Rambling story

Why does everything always seem to happen at once? We all know the feeling. When one thing happens everything and everyone wants to fall apart at once. Seems like it's always my luck ( yeah, that's why the screen name ).
Anyways, we've been getting our oil changed at Wal*Mart for years. We've had one problem with them in the past and...

  • Wednesday...ah another week almost gone

    Wednesday, September 3, 2008 | A Rambling story

Well, it's wednesday and todays the first day of school here in Oregon.  My youngest granddaughter starts kindergarten today.  Boy they grow so fast.  I feel blessed because my daughter and son-in-law let me be a big part of her life.  They let me go to the school with them yesterday when they got her registered, so I got to meet the teachers too and see the rooms.  W...

  • The Sun is shining....

    Tuesday, September 30, 2008 | A Rambling story

    Hello all,
I was just sitting here waiting for a fax to come in and filling out my Jury Duty paperwork and got to thinking I hadn't said hello for a couple of days.
Got my Jury duty notice (again) so I'm going to go and get it over with this time then they'll leave me alone for 2 years.  It's funny that in my entire family I'm the only one who has been called for jury duty....

  • Just to get it out

    Thursday, November 20, 2008 | A Rambling story

Okay, sooooooo.....I've decided to give the journal thing a shot. I'm notoriously bad at such things, but I've got two reasons I've decided to start.
    1. Because I think I just need to get some of this stuff off my chest and I don't think anyone really will want to hear it, but if anyone's curious, here it is.
    2. Ultimately, I guess this is good to do so hopefully I can loo...

  • Crazy Weather

    Wednesday, January 7, 2009 | A Rambling story

Finally it is getting cooler! It has been so muggy and soggy at the house I feel molded. I have  often heard it said of Alabama, "if you don't like the weather here, hang around for a few days it will change". I personally like the air to be crisp and cold in the winter and warm and dry in the summer. After a week of tropical temps in January the general public b...

  • Just Thinking about Things

    Tuesday, March 17, 2009 | A Rambling story

Today went by fast; woke up still sore from yesterday. Didn't have as much of a 'baseball bat to the back' feeling. The abdo pain was still weird, transient. Got in a tub of water and enjoyed it so much that I camped out in there for almost an hour. Yummy... Decided, after talking with another CA survivor that it's important to be unafraid to take meds when needed. So I did, and i...

  • Strength

    Wednesday, August 5, 2009 | A Rambling story

Everyone I meet or talk to tells me how wonderful my attitude is.  Actually I think that my feeling about my cancer are very neutral and I don't know why.  Is it my faith, do I not care.....I don't know.  I have this overwhelming, but not scary feeling that the cancer will metastatize, if it hasn't already.  I've actually found myself thinking about my own deat...

  • Just another rambling story

    Thursday, September 3, 2009 | A Rambling story

So things have been a bit crazy this week.  We found out how much our part of the chemo treatments would be for the out of pocket part.  They told us before his had his treatment.  Then Torrey had his first chemo this week.  He had a reaction to the emend they gave him IV.  They stopped it,gave him some med, then restarted it at a slower rate.  We ended up ...

  • Journal Entry for September 30, 2009

    Wednesday, September 30, 2009 | A Rambling story

Not sure about the journal thing...I am sure about God's love and the strength He is giving me day by day to walk through this journey.  So glad that the pain from surgery is decreasing for my husband, praise God.  So glad for the smiles, the laughter, the obvious love.  So glad!
