help!
thursday night around 2 am my 10 year old son came to me with his hands burning and stinging, and red, mottled and hot to the touch. Just his palms and the underneath of his fingers. It happened again last night at 11 pm. I took him to the ER at childrens hospital. The doc thought it might be RSD and did a blood test to test for inflammation and it came back negative. I am really worried, any help would be appreciated.
PS his hands are completely normal looking at the moment.

" You should look for a pain management dr - one that specializes in RSD if possible. Take pictures of his hands when it is in those stages - in case his hands are not flaring when you have your appt. I've never had a blood test for inflammation, that's the first time I ever heard of it. Did he have any injuries to his hands recently or in the past? It could be something minor.

Try to get an appt w a pain management dr ASAP. The sooner you get it treated the more likely it is to be treatable. :)

Good Luck - I hope it works out for him. "

" Thanks for your response, now it is all over his legs and arms , i believe from looking at pictures he has livedo reticularis, which indicates auto immune disorders, we have an appointment with the rheumalologist tomorrow. I have since discovered that RSD usually follows an injury so i dont think it is what he has. "

" The doctor could be right, that it could be RSD. When they diagnosed it on me my right arm was freezing cold and the colour changes showing also. All it takes to you can say activate RSD is any sort of trauma to the bone or nerve some place or some sort of injury. Your son is at an age were remission is more possible as the older you get the more it diminishes. There are some primary care doctors who know about RSD but not many a pain management dr as mentioned in other post's here might be your best bet. Most ER rooms they don't know nothing about RSD and I have even been called a drug user that I was just looking for drugs and the doctor their said he wouldn't look at me and walked away. "
