Going into hospital next week to have 2 spinal cord stims put in.Had the trail & recieved good relief but as my pain has spread to opposite ends of my body, specialist wants to put in two.
Very lucky my workers comp insurers have given the go ahead. They have provided me with great care, they will be supplying me with a cleaner/gardener/taxi for the duration of my reabilation.Im not looking forward to the lack of active for 4/6wks but im truelly looking forward to a decrease in pain.
Well take care all

" Hi All,
yeah surgery went well.Going for my 10day checkup today.Have noticed a difference in my hand but unfortunately my foot /leg still swells, painetc.
Well im sure with some more programming things may get better.
Just worried that im upsetting the wires in my back by things im doing.Need to ask the doc/nurse how much i can & cannot do.I know that the first 3 mths are the most important.
But its frustrated in the restrictions that you have.
Well i hope everyone is doing as well as this condition lets you.
Take care & if anyone has any tips/hints id be very happy hearing from you. "

" Hi there,

Glad to hear your surgery went well. Don't worry too much about the restrictions, the time goes by kind of fast. I had my stimulator implanted in March, so I'm getting to the tail end of my restrictions. For me, the implant helps with pain, but not so much with the swelling and discoloration. As time goes on the pain seems to decrease more, and the implant helps me to do physical therapy, which I was not able to do before. I hope the permanant implant continues to heal nicely and help you with your pain. Good luck! "

" I have the ANS implant. It works great. I am still getting used to finding the right setting for the pain since the pain is different everyday. Much better since the implant. I have to remember not to reach or stretch too much because when I do, the scar tissue around the implant pulls loose and ouch!! It can take up to three weeks for the pain from that to go away.
Having to have the implant stinks but it's a lot better than not having it. Feel better soon. "

" Glad things are going along well for you.

I am waiting for my insurance approval now for a trial right now.

And, glad the stims are working for the rest of you! It's great that this is a helpful option for us! "
