Hi, I am a 47 y/o female on crutches and also use a wheelchair. I have had RSD/CRPS for almost 2 years now from foot drop and have also been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis from a baby. Have had 19 surgeries due to hip replacements and revisions, etc. I have been in so much pain with my foot. I just saw my PM doc today. He wants to do another epidural - this is my second one in about 4 mos and I have also had about 9 or so sympathetic blocks. The pain has lessened but it is still there and drives me crazy. It feels like someone is choking my ankle and the calf and foot are ice cold. The doc said I should think about getting the Spinal Cord Stimulator. I think I would want to try Ketamine Infusion first. He has actually given it to me with the Sympathetic blocks. Does anyone know how this all works with the Ketamine and have you had any success? What can help the constriction of the blood vessels?
Thanks and God bless. Posted on 11/17/08, 06:11 pm |

I haven't had a ketamine infusion yet, I was supposed to go in September but the docs are testing me for rheumatoid arthritis also...I wonder if you might be able to explain the difference in pain between those for you? I won't get my results for a couple of weeks, I can hardly move my left hand now and it feels like RSD to me (which i've hand in my right ankle for two years) Pain is also bad in my left hip and knees....wherever it's not bad it's mild....silly pain.
I'm also really interested to hear if anyone has had success with ketamine... -Caf :)
