I am 16 years old and i have been wondering all my life WHY I AM SO COLD ALL THE TIME. it's so frustrating because the rest of my family likes to have the house set at a specific temperature.. which is what most people would call "comfortable", but im so cold its almost unbearable sometimes. i sleep with a heated blanket and two thick duvet covers. i also have a fireplace in my room that runs constantly. i thought it was just poor circulation. but then i realized that when i feel quite cold my fingers turn grey/blue and my feet will turn very purple. also my nose gets extremely cold and the skin on my arms and legs get red/purple blotches. could i have raynauds? and how do i get it diagnosed? what kind of doctor should see?
thank you, lauren Posted on 07/30/09, 03:07 am |

I have had Raynauds since a child, as far as i know it simply affects circulation to the extremities when cold...i.e. fingers and toes. It doesn't affect nail growth in any way.
With the symptoms you have described i suggest you seek a medical opinion as it could be something else which may need medical attention.
