I have tried gloves, even doubling up on them with thin fleece gloves and heavier snow shoveling gloves and used Hot Hands2 and nothing keeps my fingers from freezing up. My hands are constantly cold, which is annoying and keeps me from engaging in certain acts until I can psuedo-warm them up. My toes aren't too bad, but my fingers get so cold and if I let it go, they turn white and I don't know what the onset was. It started 2002-2003 and prior to that I could go in the snow in a bikini (not for long, but I wouldn't be losing circulation). What can I do to help cure this? Or to warm my hands?

" I find it a bit better if I use mittens rather than gloves. A good pair lined with leather outer part. They are more expensive but do help. hugs "

" I bought a pair of leather mittens...wool lined and they have a glove inside. So, I have the feel of a glove, but the warmth of mittens...plain gloves just suck for raynaud's patients. I find too, that initially, my hands will freeze, then they warm up. As long as it's not for extended periods of time.

We were moving some stuff into storage in the middle of Feb and I thought my fingers were going to fall right off of my hands. After about ten minutes, they finally warmed up...in my mittens and I was fine. Sometimes you just have to give them time to warm up a bit after the initial shock of the cold. "

" i have had ALOT of trouble with raynauds. i had to have a finger tip amputated because it couldnt heal properly. that lead to ALOT of different blood thinners that were all too much. it looked like someone tried to beat me to death i had soo many bruises.. then all that lead to a double sympathectomy. both hands were done, they are alot better now than they were and i only take an 81 mg asprine twice a day. when i was much younger i was on procardia for it. really hope yours doesnt get to the extreme mine has. " I'm pretty sure I've had Raynauds my whole life & now my toddler experiences signs too. Eeek! I have to drink hot tea, where sweaters & have sweaty hands & armpits in between attacks. I may try Circu live which is natural-tincture that contains Ginko Biloba,Ginger,Rosemary. I will let you know how this works. "

" One thing I discovered is; if you put on socks when your feet are already cold it just holds in the cold, same with your hands. If you warm then up first, they tend to stay warmer longer. Another thing I've discovered for warming up your body is rice packs. I take my husbands old tube socks and fill them with rice then sew them up. Put them in the microwave for two minutes and apply where your the coldest. I put them in the end of my bed at night. When I read I keep them on my feet. Sometimes when your attack is severe you can put them inside of your shirt and heat up your core, then heat up your hands and feet, they stay warm much longer. I've had this disease for ten years, the rice heat is a moist warm heat and man does it feel good!.
Also; put dead sea salt or another natural salt into your bath, two handfuls will get you nice and pink again. It really works. It is also good for the muscles that ache during an attach. "
