Since it turned cold here in Oct my hands and feet have been cold. My fingers are the worst, the tips of them feel like frost bit tender feeling. This Happned after the weather had first turned cold, for three days and within myself I was very cold and when that feeling went away I had the tender feeling with my hands. When the weather is warmer ( if it ever will be) I still have the tender feeling in my fingers but I don't feel has bad, I guess I need to go see a doctor.

My podiatrist first diagnosed my Raynaud's and it took him about 20 seconds after seeing my feet. I told him how certain toes turn blue-purple at times, and at other times are so ghastly white. And are numb. I also have RA, and then asked my rheumatologist about it. She immediately wanted to look at my feet again, and examined my hands once again. She agreed with the podiatrist. Right now I'm not taking specific meds for it. She did recommend an herb which promoted healthy blood flow to the extremeties. The main thing is keep your feet and hands warm! I carry light gloves with me in the spring and autumn because even sitting out in 65 degree weather will start my hands aching when there is a cool wind blowing.

I carry gloves and a light jacket with me everywhere I go even in the summer because when I go into air-conditioned places it hurts my hands when they get cold. Boy the way people look at me it makes me wonder what they are thinking. But I feel better so I do it. The idea is to keep warm enough that your blood is flowing - I think. I take folic acid. I have done better since I am taking meds but I always try to be prepared for air-conditioning. As far as the diagnosis doctors seem to be able to tell when you feet/hands turn black/blue. My RA doctor will turn off the air while she is in the room with me so that I don't get chilled. Hope this helps you all out there. Love and Prayers, Berta
