Although my Pulmonary doctor says that I am improving, I always feel totally exhausted. I am also anemic. When do you need or can be placed on supplemental oxygen? My lung capacity is now at 55%.

" when your oxygen rate goes below 88...you need to buy an oximeter and then you can test yourself. Good luck. "

" JenkG, I don't know the difference between lung capacity and blood oxygen. My blood oxygen upon exertion goes as low as 80%. After
two or three minutes of resting it returns to 91-97%. My pul. dr. says
that I have 40-60% of lung capacity of what is was before diagnosis.
I have no energy after exercising or working and need a long rest of
at least an hour before doing anything. It seems like all my muscles
turn to lead and it requires a great effort to get around. I use oxygen when I am going to work outside or play tennis (doubles only). I take a mult. vitamin to help keep my blood iron up. Hope this helps and will send more info if you want. "
