Any knowledge of National Jewish in Denver, Mayo?

I was referred to National Jewish Health in Denver for a second opinion. Does anyone have any personal or even second hand experience there?

My cardiologist just told me he had to warn me not to go to that high elevational--anything over 5,000 feet is dangerous (and even that is dangerous). Anyone with any experience going at high altitudes? I just had a lung biopsy last month.

Am also scheduled for a 3rd opinion at Mayo in November.

Thanks for any info or personal experiences you can share.

" I have heard great things about this hospital.
They have been rated the number one respiratory
hospital in the nation for the past 12 yrs. I
have talked to them and am planning on going there after my next round of dr. appointments
here at home next month. They have a phone
hot line you can call and they can answer all of your questions. PM me and I can give you
the number or you can get it on the internet.
Good luck, lomo "

" My husband was diagnosed with PF 4 1/2 years ago. We have been to National Jewish twice, and both times learned things we didn't know. My husband also has cardiac problems - 6 stents and a pacemaker - and our daughter lives in CO at 9000 ft. He has done well there - the first thing National Jewish will do is give you portable oxygen which is a great help there, and it is one of the best things anyone has done for my husband. I have learned a lot about PF and would be glad to tell you all I know. My husband is awaiting a lung transplant - the only option for PF at this point. Lynda "
