" my husband thought like you did UNTIL he couldn't breathe..he's been in ICU for 12 days trying to breathe and NOW he wants to be put on a transplant list...my husband has only been diagnosed for 6 months and he's in the hopsital already. "

" My husband has had PF for 4-1/2 yrs and is awaiting a transplant. True - that is the only option for now. Do not wait - apply for one while you are reasonably healthy. NO doctor has this disease under control no matter what they say. Duke Univ seems to be the center with the least restrictions. "

" Duke was wonderful but sometimes there is rapid decline and that's what my husband had, went from being fine, no oxygen (actually had just gotten it) got pneumoia and was never able to breathe on his own again. Duke won't accept you if your on 100% oxygen becuase you do not do well with a transplant, which I understand. "
